Conference Proposal

¨ Thirty Years ago, King Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah organized the First International Conference on Islamic Economics held in Mekkah Al-Mukaramah in 1396AH/1976AD

¨ The establishment of the IERC was the result of one of the recommendations of this conference, to be the foundation stone in supporting, co-ordinating and publishing research; and in organizing regular seminars and conferences, in the field Islamic Economics.

¨ The Seventh International Conference on Islamic Economics will be held in the campus of King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, within the period: 24-26 Rabi' Al-Awwal, 1429 corresponding to 1-3 April 2008. The theme of the conference will be: "Thirty Years of Research in Islamic Economics" to commemorate the passage of thirty years since the commencement of modern academic research in this field.
